Wild Animals Puzzle & Play

My role on the project with the Hape International Design Team was rebranding and refreshing the illustration of the old puzzle product.

My role on the project was researching & developing the concept and its packaging, product naming, and creating logo.

Find ANYthing with the ANYmals

The toys that seem to capture the toddler’s attention over and over again are often the most basic ones, like wooden blocks and ball-shaped. A child can play with them in whatever way she pleases. This toy is a mix of “magnetic stick & play” and “pull toy”.

Build funny animal faces from no faces in order to encourage the imagination of the young child to cultivate her “inner picturing” abilities.

Rudolf Steiner, the founder of Waldorf education, suggested that children’s playthings should be largely unformed in order to stimulate a child’s imagination. The toy have 5 animal faces ; the rooster, pig, beaver, dog and elephant.

The packaging is also part of the product, reducing considerably the amount of material discarded after purchase, and the added cost that traditional packaging involves.

A single stripe of paper displaying all the information needed for the shop (brand, logo, product name/description and barcode) is the only bit that will be discarded after purchase.

Logo philosophy : elephant, bird (negative space), chicken footprint, spider, ladybug (negative space), butterfly, snake.

STEM Toys

STEM is a concept that encompasses nearly everything that can be related to learning science, tech, engineering, math, as well as problem solving. Art and creativity can also be included, as well as reading – which makes us end up in nearly everything that has to do with learning and creativity.
